  • Accelerate open innovation through industry-academia collaboration

The University will promote open innovation in collaboration with Oki Electric Industry, which has concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement with the University, on themes such as logistics, next-generation transportation, healthcare and medical care, social infrastructure, and cities. The project will accelerate "Yume Pro," Oki Electric Industry's company-wide innovation activities, and explore ways of industry-academia collaboration in social and business innovation.
The importance of open innovation for Japanese companies and society has been trumpeted, but there have not been many successful examples. There are various challenges such as management processes, partnering, and reskilling of human resources that lead to innovation. How to overcome these issues is an important theme for Japanese society as a whole. Through innovation activities, we will build and maintain collaborative relationships and promote innovation projects, business development, and joint research in light of changing social trends such as the global economy and a declining population in the future. In promoting these activities, we aim to build a platform for collaboration among industry, academia, and government.
