Positive Energy Lab Leading Resilient Carbon Neutral Communities
Now our built environment is in the moment of energy transition towards achieving carbon neutral society. However, solution and action for existing building stock are still not enough. In addition, energy user decision gets more influential factor in future energy management. It is demanded for campus buildings to be responsible player to demonstrate and behave as a pilot model. Our research unit carries out following three projects; 1) Development of optimal operation algorithms for positive energy management, 2) Development of tools to understand energy balance of buildings, and 3) Development of energy simulator to support constructive energy action plan and energy behavior. To implement and demonstrate these projects, we define our campus as “Positive Energy Lab”, and operate research together with students, local communities, and international partners through international collaborations.
